Scope/Purpose of the PositionThe Supervisor in Training is responsible for shadowing and training under the Production Supervisor to eventually assume the role of Production Supervisor. This position involves assisting in managing the production floor in the absence of the Production Supervisor, overseeing production lines, addressing concerns, deviations, and technical issues with supporting functional groups, while working on the production line when not actively engaged in training or assuming supervisor responsibilities.Requirements:
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions o Assist in covering any positions on the line during times of call off, PTO, and as needed. o Shadow and train under the Production Supervisor to learn supervisory responsibilities and operational procedures. o Support in managing/supervising a production team of up to 20-30 people per shift across multiple production lines. o Promote safety, quality, and cleanliness throughout the plant, ensuring adherence to all Bakerly policies and procedures. o Communicate and build working relationships with the department and other supporting functional groups. o Assist in optimizing product quality by ensuring customer requirements are met, performing self-testing, and analyzing results in accordance with procedures and production specifications. o Support in ensuring subordinates comply with hygiene and food safety rules, conducting regular line inspections to evaluate GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and quality requirements. o Assist in maintaining a positive employee relations environment, resolving issues, questions, and complaints, and communicating with Production Management. o Learn to operate all equipment on the line to assist in training new employees or in emergencies. o Collaborate with supervisors to pass on communication to avoid quality or downtime issues.Job Qualification Requirements o Desire to develop supervisory skills and progress into a leadership role within the food manufacturing industry. o Basic understanding of food manufacturing processes; baking process experience is a plus. o Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). o Strong written and oral interpersonal and communication skills. o Understanding of safe work practices, GMPs, incident investigation techniques, permit to work systems, management of change, safety, and environmental regulations. o Ability to facilitate efficient cooperation between departments. o Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and react to changing priorities. o Ability to assess, prioritize, and resolve plan issues. o Knowledgeable in HACCP and SQF.Back-upThe Production Supervisor serves as the backup in the absence of the Supervisor in Training.PIa3f173a45c28-25448-33966483 Recommended Skills Coordinating Environmental Laws Food Safety Labor Relations Leadership Microsoft Excel Apply to this job.
